Fundipedia is happy to announce our latest partnership with the Investment Association (IA). With this collaboration, Fundipedia will seek to foster better relations between the asset management industry and the FCA by allowing asset managers to comply with FCA rules while accelerating the transfer and re-registration of consumer holdings. Towards the end of 2020, the IA developed an upgraded Common ShareClass Register (CSR) that went live in September. It contains listings for over 6,000 individual Funds for 130 retail-facing investment firms. It also displays the commonly available class of Funds made available by its members to assist the class conversion processing of investment platforms and administrators.

Fundipedia provides fund data management software and consultancy services to many of the IA’s members. We have built an enhanced software platform to host the new register by leveraging the existing data and maintaining participant’s data, on a real-time basis for at least five years. This will give our clients access to the register in a more timely, user-friendly, and visually attractive way than is currently the case.

Jonathan Lipkin, Director, Policy, Strategy & Research at the Investment Association said:

“The CSR has already become an important data service to the industry, and it’s great news that Fundipedia will now host the register, providing upgraded facilities for the benefit of our members and the wider funds ecosystem.”

Simon Swords, Founder and Managing Director of Fundipedia said:

“As a beneficiary of IA’s Engine, this is a great opportunity for Fundipedia to practically demonstrate how beneficial Fintech accelerator programmes, such as IA Engine, can be. We have the technology to benefit the whole investment management sector, so why not use it? It’s a win-win for everyone.”

Watch here a discussion between Simon Swords, founder of Fundipedia, and John Allan from IA about how the upgraded register was built and its capabilities.
